Project

For my EDGE project I held the position of Pro Consul "Vice President" in Sigma Chi. First to obtain this position I had to run against other brothers who also sought the great leadership opportunities that it offered along with great level of pride it gives you. I was able to win the election so therefore becoming the new Pro Consul of the Sigma Chi Fraternity of the Kappa Iota Chapter.

My first order of business was to attend BLTW which is the Balfour Leadership Training Workshop. There I put in a lot of work with other Pro Consuls from all over the nation to put together leadership plans and organization methods to bring back to our chapters. I was able to learn a lot from these great men, from here I tried to implement a few new things when I arrived back at our chapter.

One of the biggest things that I implemented was the use of agendas for our Executive Committee meetings. By doing this I was able to create a more transparent relationship between EC and Chapter. Moving on from implementation, as Pro Consul I had the duty of running the Judicial Board, Post Initiation Training "P.I.T.", EC meetings, and coordinating with all of the positions to make sure they were achieving what they set out to accomplish. These were the key aspects of my position as Pro Consul, that being said last year our chapter had great success in everything we set out to accomplish, I'm not saying I was the sole reason for that, but it was a combined effort from the great EC we had and the support of all of the active brothers.

Project Outcomes

After completing my position I obtained very valuable leadership skills at our Leadership Conference BLTW over the summer. Through the agendas that I posted every week, I was able to create an honest and respected Executive Committee because our brothers knew everything that was happening in the meetings. One of my other big goals I would say was to be able to gain the respect and confidence of my peers as a leader. My brothers know how demanding this position is. After completing this position I know that I was able to gain the respect and confidence of my peers. I know this because when our chapter was having elections for new positions this year, my brothers elected me to be what is called our sweetheart chair for this year.

Above is a Executive Committee agenda that I would post weekly prior to our EC meetings. The content every week changed but the format of the meeting was the same.
